Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) is a cloud service offering that enables creation of a virtual private cloud on AWS Cloud Infrastructure. It is an all encompassing private cloud solution with broad customization & configuration options. Users / subscribers can source from a small form factor virtual private cloud to an enterprise class cloud hosted data center.

Brief Description of Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC)

Amazon Virtual Private Cloud is primarily a fully customizable, secure and scalable private cloud solution. It provides the capabilities of an in-house data center but with the economies & flexibility of cloud.  The private cloud built using Amazon VPC, resides in the Amazon hosted infrastructure, but the user control & manages how these resources are accessed over the internet.

Users/ Subscribers can source computing instances from EC2, storage from Amazon S3, Amazon RDS based database and more. Amazon VPC provides the ability to select a private IP range, control the flow & access of information on the cloud network, allocate IP addresses to multiple private/public subnets and connect Amazon VPC with in-house network via secure VPN connection.  Amazon VPC provides different connectivity & accessibility option including public subnets, private subnets, and in-house data centre or hybrid connectivity solution.
