Cloud File Storage refers to a storage service provided by the service providers to store file based data over the cloud or web server via internet.

Cloud File Storage provides storage facility to its users over the internet using common file level protocols like Common Internet File System (CIFS), Server Message Block (SMB) etc. Users do not need to buy a storage resource for storing their data varying from small to large amount of file based data. Users can subscribe to the vendor’s  or service provider’s subscription plans in order to avail these Cloud File Storage services. One of the most important benefit of storing data over Cloud File Storage is that this data can  be accessed anywhere on any machine via internet as it is stored on a cloud instead of local storage. Cloud File Storage can be used to store small file based data like spreadsheets or google docs to large file based data such as databases.
