How Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS) does works?

Edge routers are used to provide internet multiprotocol switching to ensure an Ethernet connection available to the customers.

Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS) is used to connect users or subscribers to a virtual private network whereas the subscribers gets an image like they are connected to a standard LAN connection despite of the fact that virtual private network (VPN) is used by Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS)  to manage connections transportation of data within network.
