Virtual private network (VPN) is technology to securely pass information from a home or office computer to a remote location. VPN configurations encrypt information and restrict data passed in the communication stream. VPN connections require a user to enter a username and password to protect the internal network and verify credentials from the user.

Brief Description of VPN

A  virtual private network is a type of secure network that provides secure remote access to different devices or networks. It uses encryption to secure the transmitted data and avoid unauthorized access. There are two types of  VPN;

• A Remote Access VPN that uses an external enterprise service provider to create a network access server and connects remote users through VPN software.
• A Site-to-Site VPN secures data through encryption to connect to the Internet.
