Storage Provisioning is a broader term which refers to storage resources allocation to the Computing systems including servers.

How does Storage Provisioning works?

Storage provisioning a technique f Storage Area Network (SAN) used for efficient storage resource allocation.

Storage Provisioning is basically storage resource allocation which can be done automatically or manually i.e. on demand.

Storage provisioning is further divided in to two types on the basis of strategies used for allocating resources. These two types are:

  1. Thick Provisioning
  2. Thin Provisioning

How and where Storage Provisioning is used?

Storage Provisioning is used to allocate physical storage spaces in n effective way to maximize the utilization of physical storage area in the all types of computing environments.
