Zero clients refer to ultra-thin client that runs on a desktop virtualization environment as a server based computing model with no local storage for the end user. It is referred as a thin client that retains the operating system and all device configurations setting in a flash memory. It is often used in a VDI  environment.

Brief Description of Zero Client

A Zero client is a front end device that is also called as an ultra-thin-client. It is a computing  model that server based and has an end user’s device without a local storage. It consists of a small box that connects a keyboard, mouse ,monitor and Ethernet connections to a remote server. The server hosting the clients OS  and Software application can be accessed without a  cable connection. The zero clients’ ability to run on a desktop virtualization environment minimizes management and maintenance requirements. It minimizes operational costs and low cost hardware and streamlined roll out process minimizes initial costs and makes installation and replacement of devices efficient. It requires low power .centralized management and long life cycle ensures costing saving throughout the life . It allows users  to have less physical PCs.
